3D Topography Design of Tilcon Quarry
CASY STUDY: TILCON QUARRY
Problem: Tilcon New York, Inc. commissioned Web Epoch to create a 3D Topographic Visual Model of their Riverdale Stone Quarry. Both the municipal council and the landowner of a nearby Campground could not visualize how the roadway from the Tilcon office to the top of the Riverdale Stone Quarry would cut through the mountain.
The Municipal Council could not approve the project without further visual presentation and clarification. In addition, the landowner was concerned that this roadway may affect the surrounding natural beauty aesthetics of the campground.
Solution: Web Epoch created a 3D Topography Design of the proposed terrain of the entire Riverdale Stone Quarry from their office below and the proposed roadway leading to the top of the Quarry. We then rendered the proposed roadway that started from the parking lot and climbed through a mountain, cut 30-foot deep as the road ascended to the top of the Riverdale Stone Quarry.
To further assure both the landowner and the Municipal Council, Web Epoch created a 3D video flyover of the entire Riverdale Stone Quarry from their office below to the top of the mountain.
We designed the 3D Terrain suitable for 3D printing a topographical model. The 3D Printing was done with PLA with the model having a size of 24 in x 23 in x 4 in dimension.
Tilcon New York was very pleased because they quickly got the landowner and municipal council approvals for this multi-million dollar capital project.
Web Epoch is very proud of the Tilcon New York 3D Topography projects.
